Loudly and proudly presenting shows in venues of all shapes and sizes across the city.
If you haven’t heard his name yet, Gilles Peterson’s latest protege Skinny Pelembe is tipped for greatness. Born in Johannesburg and raised in Doncaster, Skinny is a hyper-talented multi-instrumentalist, producer and MC. His sound trips down hazy, afro-tipped and psychedelic tangents, doused in reverb and cassette hiss. Inspiration from Jamaican dub of the 70s and 80s flavours his “down-tempo production with an abstract sense of soul” (The Clash). Already primed for a host of festivals this summer, Skinny Pelembe is sure to be a hot ticket in Bristol come the autumn.
